At FAR FROM STANDARD, we believe fundamentals are the key to success. Attempting to learn upper level courses is futile without the proper foundation.
Our team is made up of a diverse mix of teachers - some veterans who have been practicing specific courses for over 7 years, and others who are just embarking on their careers. Combined with our passion and far from standard approach, we believe there is no better tutoring team in the business.
Far From Standard has spent many years developing a system to beat the exams administered at the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. Our expertise and constant monitoring of classes enables us to continuously, year after year, pre-select exam questions. In physics alone, our tutors consistently pick out around 50% of the questions. This alone gives you a huge advantage over the competition, the rest of your peers.
Our teachers are not foreign exchange students trading sub par teaching for research grants. We feel that the University should have requirements that ensure their teachers have proper teaching certificate and fluency in English. Its hard to imagine trying to learn Calculus or Biochemistry when your teacher can hardly pronounce the word integral or complex molecules. Each of our tutors goes through a rigorous training process and speaks English very fluently. Far From Standard tutors realize that great teaching stems from an individuals ability to connect with students. This eventually leads to actual interest rather then the typical "I just need to get this class over with for my major" feeling.
You may have never heard of us, or we may come highly recommended by one of our many students. Regardless, come try us out for a session. If you don't feel like you learned more in one FFS session then your professor or TA was able to teach in a whole week, then we will refund all of your money.
